Medellin

So.... we made it to Colombia, surprisingly wth no hassle.... just very tired. Medellin is a nice enough city. Three million people live here. The city runs the length of a long valley. Sky scrapers climb up the sides of the mountains in every direction. A thick haze hangs over the place. It kind of reminded me of LA. There really isn't too much to do here..... just a typical large Latin American City with nice parks and museums and uninspiring architecture. If nothing else, it made for a convenient place to relax before venturing out into the countryside. From what I gathered, Medellin is experiencing a bit of a renaissance. Apparently it wasn't too nice a few years ago. We stayed for a day and that was enough.... now its off for the Carribean coast.

Right outside our hostel.... a very green city

Of course Lisa couldn't resist this
