We finally got out of London.... Took a train three hours out into the countryside to the town of Bath. Bath turned out to be a perfect medieval city..... beautiful.... exactly how I had imagined Europe would be..... lots of old buildings, nice parks and gardens, and beautiful countryside. The city is centered around an old Cathedral and some thermal springs that the Romans used to bathe in. We could have easily spent a few days in the area:



































Back in London.... last day.... Lots of roaming. I always thought that the building below was Buckingham Palace. As it turns out, its not. It is the British Parliament building. Buckingham Palace isn't nearly as nice.
This is a permanent protest camp set up in in a grassy square in front of the parliament building.



Westminster Abbey a massive Gothic church compound in the middle of London, built over 950 years ago.... this was my favorite place in London. Unfortunately, photography is strictly forbidden on the inside. Ever since the crowning of William the Conqueror in 1066, coronations of English and British monarchs were held in the abbey.In addition to a church, Westminster Abbey is a crypt. Most of England's kings and queens are buried here.

An old police station turned into an art gallery with exhibits in former jail cells:
